GERMANY’S GERRESHEIMER SIGN LAND LEASE AGREEMENT

Today, the CEO of North Macedonia Free Zones, Aleksandar Mladenovski, and Oliver Burgel, Еxecutive Vice President of Germany’s Gerresheimer, in charge of Global Operations, Quality, and Procurement, signed a land lease agreement for the construction of their plant in the Skopje 2 free zone. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, and Vice Prime Minister Kocho Angjusev, were also present at the signing and gave statements to the media.

North Macedonia’s largest investment to date is planned to develop in five phases, with 400 new jobs opening during the first phase. Highly skilled engineers, computer scientists, and electrical engineers will be employed.

Construction of the plant for medical plastic in the Skopje 2 free zone is expected to begin during the first half of the year, and production should start in the middle of the following year.

This is Gerresheimer’s first investment in Southeast Europe. They chose to expand their production in North Macedonia due to its ideal location, good infrastructure, low costs, trained personnel, as well as stable and predictable Government policies.
