“Kostal” – positive investment image of Macedonia

German company “Kostal” that decided to invest in Ohrid and Struga region, will produce electronic components for the automotive industry. Its products will be installed in the most luxurious car brands in the world.

Alek Nikovski Adviser for foreign investment today said that the products of “Kostal” are built in Mercedes Benz, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maybach, Volkswagen, Jaguar, Ford, Peugeot, etc.

-Master field of the company activity are electronic components that produce electronic modules for managing the windows, doors, seats, complete electronic assemblies steering wheel, automatic transmission vehicles and electronic management systems of the vehicle with the help of cameras and sensors. I work for a company with a very high technology that is very innovative, Nikovski said.

He added that negotiations with the German giant lasted about two years and the company’s management performed detailed analyzes to their decision to invest in Macedonia.

-The key was the positive business climate in Macedonia, of course, competitive costs, skilled workforce that they found out during their visits in the country and Ohrid and Struga region. I would mention the macroeconomic and political stability which is extremely important for investors, but also the positive feedback in contact with existing foreign investors in Macedonia that influenced the further strengthening of their positive impressions of how things are in Macedonia, emphasized Nikovski.

Director of DTIDZ Viktor Mizo said that “Kostal” had detailed overview on locations where to start off brown field investment and first jobs are expected by the end of the first i.e. the second quarter of next year.
