TURKEY’S MURAT TICARET TO BUILD PLANT IN SKOPJE 2 FREE ZONE
The CEO of Macedonia’s free zones, Aleksandar Mladenovski, and the Director of Turkey’s Murat Ticaret, Shahan Murat Gora, signed an agreement for lease of construction land in the Skopje 2 free zone today.
The company, which specializes in electrical wiring harness manufacturing for the automotive industry, plans to invest €7 million, employ 500 people in a plant encompassing 6,000m², and import their products to the European market. Within a period of 10 years, the company intends to expand their capacity to approximately 18,000m².
“The geographical position of the Republic of Macedonia, its proximity to the European Union, the skilled workforce, the positive approach of the Government and the new package of state aid measures prepared by the Government were factors that contributed to the company’s decision to invest in the Republic of Macedonia, said Mr. Gora.
The company will operate in Macedonia under the name Murat Wiring Systems. The plant is expected to be built by the end of 2018, and production activities to start at the beginning of 2019.
Murat Ticaret, which manufactures products for a large range of vehicles in the automotive industry, employs 2,200 people worldwide.
