Turkish company “Ҫaǧatay Kablo” was founded in 1998, manufacturing wiring harnesses and cables predominantly serving the needs of the automotive industry. The company’s main clients are leading manufacturers of buses, tractors, construction machinery, trucks, commercial vehicles, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), sweeper machines, and special airport vehicles.
“Ҫagatay Kablo” had a cornerstone laying ceremony in September of 2017 at the Skopje 1 free zone to mark the start of construction of a new plant in Macedonia encompassing an area of 26,000m². The investment is valued at €6 million and expects to open 300 new positions within five years.
Additionally, “‘Ҫagatay Kablo” will be a supplier to the Belgian company, ”Van Hool”, which is also present in the Skopje 1 free zone. This is significant because a company with foreign capital in Macedonia, namely “Van Hool”, will purchase spare parts from Ҫagatay Kablo’s plant, instead of importing them from abroad.
Start of production for the new plant is expected to begin in 2018. As of the start of the 2018 calendar year, the number of employees totaled 17.
