During the period of November 29th – December 2nd, Government delegation led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski presented Macedonia’s investment opportunities before business communities in Singapore and Japan.
A business forum was held in Singapore in cooperation with the Singapore Business Federation, where PM Gruevski and his team presented the investment opportunities and benefits offered by Macedonia before representatives of more than 50 companies.
Singapore Business Federation Chairman, Tony Chew Leong Chee, addressed the forum while positively assessing achievements of Macedonia’s economy, urging Singapore businessmen to seriously review opportunities offered by Macedonia for their investment projects.
The Macedonian delegation had meetings with representatives of companies that showed interest in visiting Macedonia to explore the investment potentials.
After wrapping up the visit to Singapore, the Government’s delegation departed for Japan, visiting Tokyo and Osaka.
In Tokyo, the delegation took part at a business forum organised by the Japan External Trade Organization. In addition to official business presentations by the government’s team, PM Gruevski had separate meetings with several Japanese companies in order information to be exchanged involving their interest to invest and the opportunities offered by Macedonia as an attractive business destination.
Government’s delegation also took part at a business forum in Osaka, at the Osaka Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Japan External Trade Organisation.
Emphasizing Macedonia’s favorable location, JETRO’s president, Mr.Hidehiro Yokoo, stated that Macedonia is a country where two trans-European corridors pass through, which demonstrates its significant and strategic location that can serve as a gateway to European markets.
During his visits to Singapore and Japan, PM Gruevski was accompanied by Vice PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski, Minister in charge of attracting foreign investments, Bill Pavleski, director of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion, Visar Fida and director of the Directorate for Technological and Industrial Development Zones, Viktor Mizo.
