Hi-Tech Assembly Center, a unit of Hi-Tech Corporation, is the first Macedonian company to invest in a plant in the Skopje 1 free zone. The €20 million investment is expected to open 300 jobs in two phases. The initial phase is estimated at €6 million, while the second at €14 million.
A cornerstone was laid in the Skopje 1 free zone in 2016. The first stage included construction of a plant, covering an area of 5,400m². Its products are broadly applied in automotive, aviation and military industries, as well as production of medical equipment.
Production involves the use of electronic printed boards as the basis for further assembling of microprocessor-type components, resistors, capacitors, transistor connectors, and the like. The plant is expected to be the pinnacle of technical and technological achievement in Macedonia by manufacturing the most sophisticated electrical components, and ultimately participating in global nanotechnologies.
At the beginning of 2018, the number of employees in the Skopje 1 free zone was 99.
Clients of the Macedonian company are global brands, such as Continental, Siemens, Bosch, and Philips. Hi-Tech Corporation employs a total of 180 people. Their products are entirely intended for foreign markets, exporting mainly to Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
