As part of the activity agenda for the promotion of Republic of Macedonia’s conditions for investment, the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones was a participant of the Automotive News Europe Congress, which was held in Monte Carlo from the 20th until the 21st of June, where Macedonia facilitated a stand with promotional material.

The participants of the event were eminent companies for production of automobiles and automotive components including OPEL, VOLVO, FIAT, RENAULT, PORSHE, FERRARI as well as consultant firms, all represented by their executive directors. At the conference were promoted the newest trends in the automotive industry from both the European and the world market revealing future expectations and production plans in a time of an economic crisis in Europe.

During the Congress, the CEO of the Directorate, Viktor Mizo achieved meetings with fifteen manufacturers of automotive components. With several of the companies, the Directorate is in a stage of serious negotiations for potential investment in Republic of Macedonia, and with others has arranged presentations in front of their strategic teams in their headquarters as well as visits in Macedonia.

In addition to the Macedonian presence at this event, other institutions from countries such as Louisiana, Virginia and Serbia promoted their investment conditions.

The Congress in Monte Carlo represents a continuation of the World Automotive Congress who was initially held in January of this year in Detroit where Macedonia was subsequently presented as a potential country for investment. The next Congress in the series of these events is scheduled to take place in June of 2013 in Istanbul.
