Members of the North Macedonia Free Zones – DTIDZ are on an official visit today in Pirot, Serbia where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Free Zone Pirot. The goal of the memorandum is to formalize the joint cooperation in creating the most modern concept of free zones, as well as realizing global projects aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of free zones. This collaborative initiative is supported by the World Free Zones Organization’s regional office in Dubai.

The meeting also served to finalize the details regarding the organization of the European Free Zones Summit – Skopje 2019 that is scheduled to be held in Skopje from May 2nd to the 4th, 2019, in cooperation with the World Free Zones Organization (WFZO).

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the CEO of North Macedonia Free Zones, Mr. Aleksandar Mladenovski, and Dr. Dragan Kostic, CEO of Free Zone Pirot and Board Director of World Free Zones Organization, at the premises of the Economic Chamber of Pirot. This collaboration will enable the possibility of expanding the network of contacts with potential investors from around the world, deepening the cooperation with other global free zones, gaining a better understanding of their work, sharing experiences in attracting new investors, as well as assisting existing investors in the free zones.

The objective of this initiative is to increase the efficiency of free zones, as well as acting as an incentive to the private sector of both regions in order to establish stable, sustainable, and enduring economic growth.
