Meeting with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD)
In order to implement the program “Systemic Approach to Circular Migration and Economic Investments”, supported by Sweden, Director Goce Dimovski met with Petar Trajkov and Stefani Spirovska, program managers at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD). The meeting included discussions on supporting and developing the potential for reinvestment of the diaspora in the country, i.e. within the zones.
Director Dimovski emphasized the importance of establishing sustainable mechanisms for connecting the diaspora with the domestic economy, with special emphasis on creating favorable conditions for reinvestment, transfer of knowledge and skills, as well as encouraging long-term partnerships. He pointed out that the Directorate for TIDZ, in cooperation with the government, is actively working to create favorable conditions for all investors and that it is precisely the TID zones that represent a concrete and secure platform for the implementation of such initiatives.
Petar Trajkov and Stefani Spirovska expressed satisfaction with the meeting, with expectations of successful further cooperation. They stressed the need for continued coordination between all stakeholders, in order to create a sustainable framework that will enable long-term effects on economic development and better utilize the potential of the diaspora.
The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is a leading democracy support organization in the United Kingdom, working to strengthen democratic governance around the world through programs, expert guidance and research.
