TIDZ WITH SUPPORT OF YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS FOR OPENING NEW WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH

With specific activities and measures, TIDZ will support the project of several youth organizations whose goal is to reduce youth unemployment and open opportunities for companies to invest in the development of the appropriate skills and knowledge of employees.

The Director of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones, Jovan Despotovski, at the meeting with the representatives of the Youth Union from Krushevo and the Institute for Good Governance and Euro-Atlantic Perspectives (IDUEP), several youth organizations and representatives of the club 40 of the Chamber of Commerce stated that such cooperation and programs will contribute young people to stay in the country.

“The census, as well as numerous relevant studies, show that two-thirds of young people from the country declare that their first option for work is to move away from home and find their job abroad at any cost. It is precisely for this reason that we must work quickly and with concrete measures to change this awareness and enable young people here, at home, to develop their skills that will bring them high-paying jobs.”

Despotovski pointed out that TIDZ is already developing a new concept #Good job, the purpose of which is to encourage the growth of well-paid jobs in companies in the zones by supporting the development of skills among young people necessary for the demanded high-paying professions. Within the framework of this concept, mechanisms are also being developed for greater labor mobility in the national economy, creation of a single and real labor market and full opening of the labor market among companies in TIDZ.

The goal of TIDZ is to encourage professions and new jobs with added value, which bring higher wages for each employee, and which are according to the needs of high-tech companies operating in the Zones.

At the meeting, it was agreed that IDUEP and the Youth Union would submit specific proposals to TIDZ, and then a memorandum would be signed that would define mutual cooperation. The Directorate for TIDZ offers youth organizations spatial conditions, logistics and other necessary support in order to more successfully implement the project “What young people want – The professions of the future require knowledge and skills today” which is financed by the European Union. The cooperation of TIDZ with IDUEP and the Youth Union has the potential to expand in more similar areas, simultaneously with more partner organizations, competent state institutions, chambers of commerce, universities and other scientific institutions.

The project “What young people want – The professions of the future require skills today” is implemented by the Institute for Good Governance and Euro-Atlantic Perspectives (IDUEP) and aims to raise public awareness and create concrete recommendations for overcoming the problem of youth unemployment, detecting what youth profiles are needed by the labor market, but also how companies should invest in the development of the appropriate skills and knowledge of employees. This project is sub-granted by the “Ana and Vlade Divac” foundation, the Youth Union and 3 partner organizations from the region, and financed by the European Union.
