GROWTH OF JOBS CONTINUES IN TIDZ – 900 NEW EMPLOYMENTS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR
The growth in the number of jobs and exports in TIDZ continues, according to the Directorate’s regular monthly analysis. As of July, the number of jobs increased by 14% compared to the same period last year and reached over 17,150. That is 20% more than July 2021, i.e., 30% more compared to July 2020, the analysis shows. Since the beginning of the year alone, almost 900 of our fellow citizens have been employed in TIDZ companies.
The growth of exports also continues, which as of July exceeded the limit of 2 billion euros. In July alone, exports are 336 million euros, which is 20% higher than July last year, i.e. 50% and 58% higher compared to July 2021, i.e. July 2020. Compared to the beginning of the year, export in the zones increased by 22%.
Imports in the first seven months of the year reached over 1.8 billion euros. Only in July of this year, the companies in TIDZ made imports of 261 million euros, which is 13% higher compared to July 2022 and 2021, and 39% more compared to July 2020. Compared to the beginning of the year, imports in the zones increased by 15%.
Due to these economic trends, the positive growth trend in net exports continues, which as of July is 25%.
The growth trend is expected to continue, considering that since the beginning of the year, contracts of over 280 million euros have been reached in TIDZ, which should bring over 4,600 jobs in the next ten years. Also in the final stage of negotiations are 4 new investments with a volume of over 150 million euros.
