Job growth continues – export growth of 8%
The companies in TIDZ in April achieved exports of 300 million euros, which is 8% more compared to the same month last year and 21% more compared to April 2022. The regular analysis of TIDZ shows that in the first four months of the year, exports from the Zones are over 1 billion and 120 million euros. There is also stable growth in imports, which in April is 270 million euros, which is 10% higher than April 2023, that is, 9% higher compared to the fourth month in 2022. As of April, total imports reached over 1 billion euros. Due to such economic trends, there has been a positive ratio of imports and exports since the beginning of the year.
Also, the trend of job growth continues, which is currently close to 18,100. This is 8% more compared to April last year, and 25% more compared to the fourth month of 2022. In the last seven years, close to 12,000 new jobs have been created in TIDZ alone, compared to almost 6,300 by 2016. The average gross salary as of March exceeded 1100 euros.
This trend of economic movements in the zones is especially positive if we take into account the negative trends in the European economy which are the main export destinations, as well as the fact that one of the companies is going through a process of ownership restructuring, which affects the export and import figures, but in spite of that growth has been registered. It is expected that after the successful completion of this process, the company will continue to contribute as in the past period.
The positive growth trend is expected to continue in the next period due to the increased volume of concluded investment contracts. In the last three years alone, contracts with a total volume of over 1 billion euros have been reached in TIDZ, which create over 10,000 new jobs, some of which are already being implemented.
