Meetings held with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
The director of the TIDZ directorate, Goce Dimovski, held official meetings with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The meetings were aimed at deepening the cooperation between the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and TIDZ, related to the selected beneficiaries of the “Public Call Program for Technical Assistance for Supplier Development”, which is implemented within the framework of the IFC’s program on production value chains for the Western Balkans.
Director Dimovski expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between TIDZ and IFC, emphasizing the importance of supporting domestic companies.
“Cooperation with IFC represents a significant step forward for our companies and the economy as a whole. This partnership not only provides support for the development of suppliers, but also creates new opportunities for innovation and competitiveness of our companies in the international market. I expect this cooperation with IFC to bring significant benefits to all stakeholders in the future as well.”
At the end of March this year, eleven investment projects were selected at the Public Call for Technical Assistance for the Development of TIDZ Suppliers intended for Macedonian companies.
“The aim of the supplier development program is to advance the integration of companies from the Western Balkans into regional and European value chains. The program offers support through various initiatives from the private and public sector, all with the aim of improving the competitiveness of companies from the Western Balkans and creating new opportunities for economic growth and development in the region,” said Eugene Osmochescu, IFC project manager.
During the meetings, it was also discussed for the Project for Eco-Industrial Parks in the Western Balkans, which is jointly implemented by the International Financial Corporation (IFC), the European Commission (EC), and the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) under the EU-funded Economic and Investment Plan (EIP) for the Western Balkans 2021-2027. After the initial diagnostics, in which TIDZ also participated and the feedback from the EU representatives, the Technological Industrial Development Zone Skopje has been selected as a key participant in the Eco-Industrial Parks pilot study, together with other parks from different countries.
“Technological the industrial development zones in Skopje are one of the most developed zones, taking into account that most of the companies are located there. Like all zones, these also aim to improve environmental efficiency, minimizing harm to the environment. It is an honor to be a key participant in the pilot study, considering that these efforts are an important part of the strategy for economic development, as well as the country’s integration into the EU,” said Dimovski.
“The International Finance Corporation, through this pilot study on eco-industrial parks, aims to increase the sustainability of economic growth, encouraging the implementation of green solutions. This study will identify the best practices and innovations in the field of eco-industrial parks, and will also help in the development of new strategies to improve environmental efficiency, providing successful examples for other countries that strive for sustainable development.” – Igor Matijevic pointed out, senior operations officer from the IFC.
