U.S. COMPANY DURA AUTOMOTIVE WILL BUILD TWO MORE PLANTS IN THE SKOPJE 2 FREE ZONE

US company DURA Automotive, which has already started production in its first factory, is starting construction of two new plants in the Skopje 2 free zone.

The company has over 30 factories and engineering centers in 12 countries worldwide and North Macedonia is the thirteenth country in which the company will build three more plants.

The company’s first factory, incorporating the latest technology, is already producing components for the world’s leading car companies. The second factory will produce aluminum frames for high capacity electric vehicle batteries, whereas the third plant will make aluminum ultra-light profiles for electric cars.

The three DURA plants will employ approximately 1,000 people. They will all work in cutting-edge factory systems and will receive training and skills to participate in high-tech processes. The company also intends to build a Research and Development Center to support its plants, which will employ highly qualified and experienced engineers, including computer design engineers, machine experts, mechanical and electrical engineers, and will provide training for its employees.

Mike Beckett, Chief Operating Officer of DURA Automotive, stated in his address that the production facilities in North Macedonia will integrate state-of-the-art technology.

“DURA’s management team highly appreciates the excellent cooperation we have received from the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. Their strong support has enabled our European operations team to move quickly to finalize this strategic addition to our operations,” said Beckett.
