INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES PRESENTED TO REPRESENTATIVES OF GERMAN INDUSTRY

A round table for the presentation of investment and trade potentials organized by TIDZ, AHK North Macedonia and the German chamber IHK Frankfurt am Main.

The conditions and opportunities for investment in North Macedonia, as well as the advantages offered in the technological industrial development zones, were presented to representatives of over 20 German companies from various activities in Frankfurt today.

“The interest shown by the representatives of the German business community makes us confident that German companies will continue to actively participate in the technological advancement, sustainable growth and development of our economy,” said the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of economic affairs. , coordination of economic departments and investments, Fatmir Bytyqi.

Vice Prime Minister Bytyqi, who is staying in Frankfurt, at a round table together with the director of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones (DTIDZ), Jovan Despotovski, before the representatives of the strong German industry, companies from several sectors, presented the opportunities for investment in our country, for government measures and the support that foreign companies receive.

“We emphasized the high level of economic cooperation between North Macedonia and Germany, as an excellent experience and for further increasing the number of German companies, which is more than 200, which have made an investment and employ over 22,000 citizens, who are regularly paid competitive salaries,” said Bytyqi.

Vice Prime Minister Bytyqi pointed out that German companies are of great help in adjusting the standards in the Macedonian economy to those of the EU.

“Experience that our economy needs in order to prepare in time for integration into the EU economic space. We expect these benefits to continue, deepen and expand,” said Bytyqi in his statement to the media after the round table.

Vice Prime Minister Bytyqi stated that from the interest that was expressed at the round table with representatives of the German business community, it is realistic to expect that German companies will continue to actively participate in the technological advancement, sustainable growth and development of our economy.

“What is important is that we are talking about technologically advanced companies, established in global markets, which do not base their success on cheap labor, but on human resources that are distinguished by advanced knowledge, innovation, with built-in skills to be part of the most modern technological production processes”, said Bytyqi.

The director of DTIDZ, Jovan Despotovski, underlined two key messages from today’s meetings with German companies.

 “Firstly, that North Macedonia is a stable country, small but flexible, which can adapt to the demands of investors, and at the same time benefit the citizens, and secondly, it is even more important that we have hardworking and diligent people in the country. But our clear message is that they should be paid, and what pleases me is that the high wages we are advocating for are more and more acceptable to companies. Now the focus is on the skills of young people,” Despotovski said, and announced new German investments in the country.

Antje Wandelt, director of AHK North Macedonia, part of the network of German chambers of commerce abroad, informed that 25 German companies were part of a round table that was held in the German chamber in Frankfurt, mostly companies from the financial sector, the metal processing industry, the IT sector and investment consulting, and were positively surprised by the opportunities offered by North Macedonia.

“They were most interested in the educated staff, the infrastructure, and the staff with professional education. Some of the companies are already present on the market and are interested in further opportunities, for some of them the country is a new market that has aroused serious interest”, said Wandelt.

By the way, Vice Prime Minister Bytyqi together with the director of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones (DTIDZ), Jovan Despotovski, is on a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, during which an agreement was signed on Monday in Frankfurt with the German company for the production of lithium-ion batteries “BMZ”. “, for the realization of a new German investment in North Macedonia, which will provide over 750 new jobs.
