POSITIVE GROWTH TREND IN TIDZ CONTINUES IN 2023 – INCREASED EXPORTS AND NEW JOBS IN JANUARY

TIDZ  starts the year with a positive export trend and an increase in the number of jobs, the regular monthly analysis shows.

The companies in TIDZ  realized exports of 275.4 million euros in January, which is the highest level in the last five years. Compared to January 2022, the export has increased by 11%, i.e. 9% higher than in 2021, and by 45% and 15% higher compared to 2020, i.e., 2019.

The positive growth trend continues in relation to imports. The companies in TIDZ  in January made imports of 221 million euros. It is 8% more compared to the same period in 2022, which is, 44% more than January 2020 and 15% more compared to 2019. Imports in January 2021 were higher by 10%, the analysis shows.

There is a particularly positive growth trend in net exports, which in January was 24.5%, which, among other things, is due to the increased investment activities in the Zones and the increased number of jobs.

The number of employees in the zones reached almost 16,400 in January, which is 16% higher than in January 2022. Only in the first month of the year, almost 80 new jobs were created in the companies in the zones. Otherwise, TIDZ  rounded off last year with 2,300 newly created jobs and the highest export ever of 3.7 billion euros, making 2022 the most successful year of the zones existence.
