TIDZ – OPEN CALL FOR INVESTMENTS IN 50 MEGAWATT SOLAR PLANTS
The TIDZ Directorate has announced an open procedure for the awarding of locations in five different technological industrial development zones for the construction and installation of solar power plants. The conclusion of a public-private partnership for the design, construction, management and financing of these power plants is foreseen in TIDZ Skopje 1 and Skopje 2, TIDZ Shtip, TIDZ Strumica, TIDZ Prilep and TIDZ Struga.
With this, the goal is to use part of the land in accordance with the zones, which in the past years, and in some cases more than 15 years, is unused. For the most part, we are talking about plots of land that are not suitable for the construction of production facilities. With this, TIDZ wants to contribute to strengthening the country’s energy capacities as well as accelerating the transition to an economy based on green energy, which is a global trend.
According to the prepared feasibility study, investments of 40 million euros and a maximum installed capacity of 50 megawatts are expected. The procedure is divisible, which opens up the opportunity for more companies to invest. The same conditions for investment apply to both domestic and foreign companies.
The state will receive a percentage of the income of each of the companies that will invest, and an additional fixed fee for the land is provided. The contracts will be concluded for 25 years, and according to the estimates in the Study prepared by the renowned international audit firm Grant Thornton, only the fixed fee for this period is projected at 14 million euros. These funds will be intended to cover the costs for the preparation of the land in the Zones, as well as for other infrastructural undertakings with the aim of faster and more successful realization of these investment projects.
