OVER 1100 NEW JOBS HAVE BEEN OPENED IN TIDZ SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR

The growth of employees and exports in the technological industrial development zones continues in July as well, according to the regular analysis of TIDZ. In just one month, almost 100 new jobs were opened in the companies in the zones, so as of July, over 1100 new jobs have been realized in the companies in the TIDZ since the beginning of the year. With this, the total number of employees in July grew and reached 15,085, which is 6% more compared to July last year, that is, 14.5% more compared to July 2020. According to the analysis, this trend is expected to continue, given that this is the result of the investments achieved in the past year, which are expected to create more than 2700 jobs in the following years.

The positive growth trend since the beginning of the year continues in terms of exports and imports. In the first seven months of 2022, exports from TIDZ reached almost 2 billion euros, which is the highest in the last four years. Exports in the period from January to July are 13% higher compared to the same period in 2021, i.e. 77% higher compared to 2020, and 23% and 47% higher compared to 2019, i.e. 2018. Only in July, the companies in TIDZ have exports of 280 million euros, which is 25% more than July last year.

The highest level of imports of 1.83 billion euros was also registered in the first seven months of the year compared to the same period in the past four years. This is 4% more compared to imports from January to July in 2021, i.e. 83% compared to 2020, and 21% and 64% more compared to 2019, i.e. 2018. The monthly import in TIDZ in July reached 230 million euros and is almost at the same level as in July 2021. As of July, the net export is 9%.

Despite the global political and economic developments, this trend is expected to continue until the end of the year, with which, according to estimates, exports may exceed last year’s record level of 3 billion euros of exports per year.
