Director Dimovski Meets with Setsuko Kawahara, Ambassador of Japan to Macedonia

In an effort to enhance economic cooperation between Japan and Macedonia, today, the Director of TIDZ, Goce Dimovski, held a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of of Japan to Macedonia, Setsuko Kawahara, the Deputy Chief of Mission, Shimasaki Teruyo and Besar Bekir, economic analyst for development and aid. Discussions focused on the existing cooperation between the two countries and the potential for strengthening it through specific projects and initiatives.

Director Goce Dimovski emphasized that collaboration between the TIDZ Directorate and the Embassy is crucial for attracting further Japanese investments within the zones. He highlighted the need to identify shared priorities that would enable more efficient cooperation.

“Japan is a global leader in innovation and technological advancement, making it an excellent partner for projects that drive economic growth in Macedonia. Together with the Government, we are actively working on a National Strategy that will offer even more incentives for foreign investors,” said Dimovski.

The representatives of the Japanese Embassy expressed gratitude for the meeting, underscoring Japan’s readiness to deepen its collaboration with Macedonia. She pointed out the importance of identifying common priorities that will create conditions for even more effective and deeper cooperation, which is crucial.

“There are many Japanese companies which are interested in doing business in North Macedonia, and I see a great potential to strengthen economic ties between our countries as TIDZ provides a number of incentives and services for foreign companies,” said Ambasador Kawahara.
